Duration and cost of the Courses
The Level One course runs for five weeks and costs $75. The Level Two course runs for four weeks and costs $60.
Description
There are two courses: Computing Skills Level One and Computing Skills Level Two. These courses extend your general computing skills well beyond those of our Introduction to Computers course. They are essentially word-processing courses. They teach you how to produce well set out documents that can include photos, drawings, fancy styles, sizes and colours of lettering.

- Level One has five 2-hour lessons and costs $75, including the manual.
- Level Two has four 2-hour lessons and costs $60, including the manual.
Prerequisite
You must have completed the course Introduction to Computers or gained exemption by passing the Basic Skills Exemption Test.
Computer Program
Your computer must have Microsoft Word 2013 or newer installed on it.

Lesson Activities
The activities detailed in the manual guide you through creating and formatting a variety of documents.
During the course you will write documents and save them to use for further practice at home and at the next lesson. Many of the documents are already written for you, to save you typing during lessons and to let you focus of the skills of setting text out neatly on the pages and inserting pictures.
If you are using a SeniorNet computer during lessons you will need to a USB Flash Drive (also called a memory stick or pen drive) on which to store and transport your documents.
If you are using your laptop you will benefit from having a USB Flash Drive with which to practice file management skills. Any size or brand of USB Flash Drive will be sufficient for this purpose.
